Hairpin is back after an inspired half year in the studio making our 2025 releases.

Venus in Furs, our first release, took an anguished half a year to complete.

Where it started: "What if Hairpin made a rock track over a club beat?"

Where it ended up: ​

- A trip up to heaven in the chorus and down to hell everywhere else, but a dance party everywhere between

- Phoenix programmed beats, Radiohead chords, Daft Punk guitars, and a She's So Heavy ending

- Sacher-Masoch's "Venus in Furs" -- the book that gave us the term "masochism" -- projected on personal experience of love and limerence

- The Rules of the Game by Jean Renoir in a song

- A sparkly clean track that, over and over again, demanded to be darker and more distorted

- New developments in our sound that we don't think have adequate comparisons!
